A friend of mine needs a distro for desktop use and multimedia - but no

So - Kubuntu is out of the race.
Needed: DVD, mp3, all sorts of video formats, wine so perhaps photoshop works,
gimp.
All that out of the box from install media without online repositories.
Hints?
What about Mint?

Since when is an Internet connection required to install Linux?
o Download favorite ISO.
o Burn ISO to DVD
o Put DVD in drive
o Install
And why is Kubuntu a special exclusion? If it precludes installation
without access to the Internet, then to quote Eric Cartman, "Lame".
No matter what distro you choose, you'll need access to a package
repository to do updates. But that repository can be anywhere. Even on a
laptop or external USB/firewire/bare/drive.
If you want everything, you can try a Fedora Unity "Everything" respin ISO.
