Sometimes I may be biased against Java because it has always given me
such a crappy experience but in this case that isn't the issue. I see
a lot of Java on resumes for programmer positions but very little
Visual Basic. It seems not many people want to own up to programming
in Basic anymore.
Which, actually, is quite sad.
Visual Basic is still probably *THE* fastest way to get a UI up and running.
Click-drag-click-drag-fill in some boilerplate-done.
The "more powerful" languages would do well to take a few pages out of
the Visual Basic playbook.
