I wondered that myself. He was either incredibly dense or incerdibly clever. I find it hard to believe that he was so unaccustomed to mailing lists that he thought people were privately emailing him. So I applaud everyone's concern for understanding on this list, but I watched this from the start, and the OP was uneducable, hair-trigger tempered, and nasty from the beginning; and Carl, I, and others tried vainly to calm him. So he makes a bad case for your points.
