After conferring with my wife (who is smarter and owns claim on my time),
I am willing to take the commitment of wrangling the projector for a
period of time given three preconditions:

1. I am absolved in advance for any damage not caused by my incompetence
or neglegence.

2. There be a designated back-up for when I have something else I have to do.

3. It be a fixed term.

Well, IIRC, Neil was only supposed to be President for a fixed term ... ;)

I'm a little uncomfortable with the whole projector thing, but not enough to object.

Not because I think it's a bad idea (I don't) or that Lan wouldn't be a good choice (I'm sure he'll be fine).

It's simply that the amount of wrangling required probably exceeds the amount of wrangling required to ask "Hey we need a projector this week? Could we borrow one?" for the extremely small number of times that we actually need it.

Now, if we wind up with a "broken bulb" problem again, that would be a different story, and we should probably revisit the question.
