I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking I could be flying N891JF in a few
weeks, but the tailspring bothers me a bit because it broke in half at the 1999
Lake Barkley Gathering, and we floxed it up and put a "temporary" carbon fiber
patch on it. It's still there, but I really don't trust it because I know it's
cracked all the way through with a surface patch on it. The spring is
fiberglass and clearly made for aircraft, so I'm wondering if anybody else has
seen one of these before, or something similar that I could replace it with.
I'm sure I could make one, but that would involve a mold, experimentation, and
more time than I may want to spend on it. See
http://www.n56ml.com/n891jf/tailspring.jpg to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks,
