Before presenting my topic and questions, I will let you know I have searched the KR forum history regarding this subject and have found some relatable discussions however I am still left with a few looming questions. 1. Can this be done if I have a kit that is nearly complete and has TG mains already installed? If so, how? I believe the short answer is yes however I don't really know how or what to pay particular attention to. 2. How do I find/build the nose gear? I have seen other chatting about a Diehl front nose gear but haven't been able to find anything online for purchase. Diehl site 'under construction." The reasons I would like to make the gear change are: I don't have a tail dragger endorsement and the ability and prices to get one here in COS are limited and out of my price range (starting at $1500 and just keep going from there on how long). I am hoping a conversion to tri-gear would be comparable in cost or maybe even less than getting the TG endorsement. Please don't take this as me not wanting a TG endorsement. I do. I just can't justify the cost at this point and it is holding me back. I would love to hear from any of you on the pros and cons on making such a conversion. More importantly, if this is doable I would love hear from those who have done or simply know how to do this as well as where I can find the parts to do so.
