My speed brake is 9"X30" (with 1" holes") and deploys to very near 90
degrees. My KR would not land the same without it. I get a
noticeable nose pitch up and buffeting when deployed and need to
carry a touch of power on approach to keep the decent rate in
check. Check out the video at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgdgxVgPNAk (at the 1:45 mark) to
see it in action. I land at a nearby grass strip on occasion and can
actually do a bit of a dive after clearing some trees when
approaching from that end of the strip without picking up any
noticeable speed. I cut power to full idle after clearing the trees,
push the nose down, then flare and gently set down on the grass. As
always............:-)
