Mark,
I say "ditto" to what you have said about height and width. I have
yet to ride in a KR. I am 6'21/2" tall.
I weigh 200. I have had 2 opportunities to ride in a KR2 and a KR2S. Both
times my head touched the canopy top.
I made my cabin 4" wider at the outside. I gave up the convenience and looks
of a formed plexiglass canopy, and made
my own formers, and now I wish I had made them an inch higher. I do have
clearance, but just barely. Now I have a
31/2" wide console down the center of my cockpit. There I have my rudder
cables and turnbuckles for adjustment. I also
have an armrest.
As you have mentioned, one change made makes necessary others
(plural). I don't know how necessary it was,
but I added 6" to the length of my center spar, to offset the extra width of
the cockpit.
Happy Building. And, let's don't give up.
