I fly often for my groceries, and here is what I wear every time: David Clark H10-40, ANR upgrade by Headsets inc, gel seals, and most importantly, foam earplugs. My favorite is the Laser Lite by Howard Leight Co. I realize this seems a little extreme, but after 35 years of prop drone and bad genetics, I have no choice. Really! I bought a case of the earplugs and always carry extras. It complicates matters for intercom communication, but the ANR actually increases the volume of intercom/radio over the level when ANR is turned off, helping a little bit.
