I flew down to my father's farm again on Saturday, and also visited a buddy I
haven't seen in 30 years. It was a positively gorgeous flying day, and I flew
down and back at 10,500' (it was a tall triangle). At the end of the flight I
finished up calibrating the new fuel totalizer and discovered I've been wrong
with my fuel mileage numbers. I haven't really been getting 38 mph at 150 mph
TAS...Saturday I was burning 3.7 gph at 162 mph TAS, which is 44 mpg at 162
mph!

I took the photo at the top of http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/sunsets shortly
after takeoff, just south of the Huntsville airport, looking east up the
Tennessee river. It was 33 degrees outside air temperature up there, so I
decided it was time to hook up cabin heat again, which I did today, among a few
other little airplane maintenance things...and a little more flying. I parked
the plane with 710 hours on it this afternoon.

Sorry Jones...
