I used PPG filler/primer and their Omni brand of auto paint. At the time I bought it, it was $40 a gallon, probably $60 now. I have no clear coat because I want to be able to do touch ups, which would be more difficult with a clear coat. I used an HVLP from Harbor Freight that cost $79 when I bought it.
