I'm in Hamilton NZ, I have tried email & phone to another person in Christchurch with no success. A lot of landlines & cellphones are not working in that area. The earthquake is a major disaster coming 5 months after another one which was a lot higher on the Richter scale, but the epicenter was deeper & further out to sea & was relatively was less destructive. Aftershocks had continued right up till Feb 22. This last one was only 5km deep & centred under the port causing massive damage, much loss of life & many people still unaccounted for. Has any one heard anything from KR builder Robin Macdonald in New Zealand. He lives very near the epicentre of the earthquake. I emailed him soon after it happened but haven't heard anything.
