I agree with Jeff. I served as chapter president for several years some time back. What I found most annoying about our meetings before my tenure was all the cross talk and the chapter trying to conduct business items at the membership meetings. It got boring and people lost interest. The first thing I got them to do was adopt a board of directors and conduct separate business meetings and then they just reported back at the membership meetings. Then we found something for every meeting that made the members want to attend, i.e., speakers , demonstrations, videos, special guest, etc. I then tried to bring more discipline to the meetings by using a P.A. system so everyone could hear and then eliminating all the cross talk by asking those doing it if they had something to share with the group. It didn't take them long to catch on and pay attention. I recall our attendance grew by 50% over the two years I served. You can make a difference. It just takes a bit of effort. Larry Flesner
