There were some concerns expressed recently about flunking a pending medical
versus trying to pass it to keep flying a KR. If you flunk the medical,
then not flying anything except an ultra light would be the only option. If
you were concerned about possibly flunking the FAA medical, how about taking
a DOT Commercial Driver License (CDL) physical. The CDL and third class
medical have the same tests and requirements, just different forms - and
doctors. If you passed the CDL physical, then go for the FAA medical. If
you flunked the CDL physical, then gracefully let your FAA medical expire
and transition to LSA flying. Is there any thing not said right in the
above logic?
