I have a geared starter that came with the engine from GPASC. I will try to remember to get the make and model when at the hangar this afternoon. It turns my 2276 with 8.5 to 1 compression and total seal rings with no strain.
However, it also could be your battery, battery location, or battery cables to the starter. Or, a combination of these. Does anyone know what starters are being used on the larger VW engines? I sure do hate to hand prop to get the engine started.
