Yep, it looks like Doug Steen had the easiest answer with the red balls for $5. I'll need two orifices to keep the ball from going in the tank, but that's easily accomplished with some 1/4" aluminum bar with a little hole in it. That'll help buffer the reading too, kind of like the capacitor on electric gauges.
