Thanks Jeff. I hope your cousin is doing better by now. Jack was awake and alert yesterday and his smile was heart warming.
I'm sorry we didn't get to meet but glad you got together with Jack. Atlanta or Augusta is a ways off yet but it sounds like a good place for some visits once he's on the mend. I am not sure if he is still in the hospital in Johnson City but it just so happened that my cousin Logan Neely was admitted to the same hospital on the same day. I have a lot of family in Johnson City. You mentioned Augusta and Atlanta and oddly enough I also have a lot of family there as well and fellow KR pilot Dan Heath is very close to Augusta. So, maybe when the time is right for Jack, he can get some company. I am sure that there are a lot of pilots and builders in the KR community that have Jack in their thoughts and prayers as emails regarding Jack have been going around since the accident. This is the first opportunity I've had to check mine and Jack's emails. Jack is still in critical and somewhat stable condition. He is paralized from the neck down and dependent on the venilator, but we pray that this will improve when the swelling goes down. Once this levels out he will probably go to Shepard Rehab in Atlanta or the VA in Augusta, GA for intensive long-term rehab. These two centers have some of the best spinal cord injury rehab in the nation. We have no idea how long it will be before transfer is possible as everyone heals at a different rate. We are so thankful that God has put highly specialized people in our path to care for him. I can't say enough good about the care he is receiving. He needs all the prayers he can get for the swelling to subside and healing to begin. Please do me a favor and update his KR buddies that know him. I will try my best to keep you informed however it may be some time between updates as I'm with him as much as possible.
