It's more than just a vapor barrier, It is designed as an air-infiltration 
barrier. It has a slick finish and is so tightly woven I doubt dope or epoxy 
would even adhere to it. But Hey, That's why it's called experimental you could 
test some of it and lets us know.

I've used tyvec for building kites.  It's strong but it's almost a thck paper 
quality. I don't know if I would trust any plane with it. 

You can buy it at you home building supply house. It's used to wrap your house 
, I think as a vapor barrier
