I've used tyvec for building kites. It's strong but it's almost a thck paper
quality. I don't know if I would trust any plane with it.
You can buy it at you home building supply house. It's used to wrap your house
,
I think as a vapor barrier

their freeby larger envelopes. Voila! ?Tyvec? in-hand. Tough! Light. Still
conducting multiple tests as to flammability, sunlight degradation,
compatibility with various doping agents, etc.

Super-strong and super-light! I know bamboo was used in the earliest days of
aviation, especially in the areas of the world where there was more of the reed
available than there was metal available. Unfortunately, there were very few
specs written down at the time ? particularly as to criteria/testing of the
stuff. Anyone got any leads and/or suggestions?
