If you build a Corvair engine for an airplane, buying William Wynne's
Corvair manual (specifically for airplane use) is a must. It's well
done, and has details such as specific head numbers, etc, that are most
suitable for airplane use. Using the wrong one is a mistake, so buy his
manual. See https://flycorvair.net/ for more on that. Short answer, a
"non-smog" 110 hp or 95 hp, 1965 or later. If you get desperate, I have
a rebuildable donor engine in my basement that I'll likely never need.
I already have plenty of spares. Also, see my Corvair engine builds for
my KR2S at http://www.n56ml.com/corvair/ . There is a LOT of detail
there....
