"hits an obstruction" is what happened to me, the obstruction being a tube of the diehl motor mount.
My great planes 2180 with the diehl case and mount, diehl puck drive for the mag. For me it **just barely** hit the correct timing as it hit the motor mount tube. Trying it 180 degrees over would not fit at all. I figured I'd have to make a new puck with a few degrees slant between the slots, but instead, I put a .005" feeler gauge between the mag body and the engine mount, checked it and it was within a degree or 2... good 'nuff and there is 0.005 clearance. Then I moved on.. to other projects. jg On Fri, Jan 5, 2024, 07:35 Larry Flesner via KRnet <[email protected]> wrote: > > On 1/5/2024 8:48 AM, dee david via KRnet wrote: > > He would help himself out paying $40 to get a used mag timer > > Dee > > ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ > > He has a mag timer and I'm making the request second hand as I've not > seen the setup.
