"hits an obstruction" is what happened to me, the obstruction being a tube
of the diehl motor mount.

My great planes 2180 with the diehl case and mount, diehl puck drive for
the mag.  For me it **just barely** hit the correct timing as it hit the
motor mount tube.  Trying it 180 degrees over would not fit at all.

I figured I'd have to make a new puck with a few degrees slant between the
slots, but instead, I put a .005" feeler gauge between the mag body and the
engine mount, checked it and it was within a degree or 2... good 'nuff and
there is 0.005 clearance.

Then I moved on.. to other projects.
