Neither the KR-1 or KR-2 plans required heat treatment of the wing
attach fittings. They were made from 4130 chrome moly steel, Condition
N , per plans. I never heard of any normalized 4130 wing attach
fittings ever failing, and mine were made from Wicks Aircraft supply
Normalized condition, 4130 sheet steel. John Shaffer N455JS.
