It sounds like a good engine for Ultralights and gyros, due to their need for
lightweight engines, but I wouldn’t think it would be as useful in a KR. Our
aircraft are heavier, are intended to go a lot faster, and to higher altitude
than those classes of aircraft. Two stroke, geared crank, and liquid cooled -
three strikes against.

If I was looking at a slower & lower puddle jumper, though, it would be near
the top on my short list because of the power/weight ratio. Still, I’ve never
liked 2-stokes, mixing gas, keeping it fresh … just too many details that
detract and distract from actually flying.

Two cylinders???? Hmmm
Less thrust than 912. Rotax?
A kit fox is not anything like a KR2S
Good luck

I've been in communication with the US rep of Simonini and he thinks their
engine would be a good fit for a KR2S.

He is currently installing one on a Kitfox to use as a Demo aircraft. I'm
interested in getting other people's thoughts.

I'm not affiliated but more info on the engine can be had by contacting :
