Certainly. This is what I meant when I said "the advantages
are not actually needed".
I have no doubt that your build system is perfect for your
purposes. Still, it means a lot of unnecessary burden _if_
one is building for _one_ system like OpenSolaris.
All I said was that a Sun engineer is likely to have more
difficulties with your build system than with an OpenSolaris
makefile. I think it is hardly necessary to discuss that
simple fact ad nauseam.
