Public bug reported:
When installing recent official full release of Kubuntu 26.04 on an HP
Elitebook X360 1030 G2, (i5-7550U), 8GB Ram, Calamares installer crashes
at late stage of online update - see screenshots showing the seg fault -
2604-sshot1.jpeg is when I tried the installer when connected to
internet. 2604-sshot2 and 2604-sshot3 is when I tried the installer
offline and subsequent update (which also failed - and an odd symptom
was that Discover App launched differently and despite clearing apt
cache, no updates seen - so something broken/crashing during update with
7th gen intel CPUs it seems..
