How did you test your patch? PXE boot hasn't ever worked with qemu-system-x86_64. I never dug into it because I didn't use it (although now I do since KVM uses it by default). I don't know that it's worth pulling in the PXE boot fix until we figure out why it doesn't work on qemu-system-x86_64 since KVM uses that by default now.
