Turn off the backlight. Paralleling pairs increases capacitance that will kill the 74xx. Cat5e will have lower cap and helps. Make sure the cable starts at the ksu and ends at the set. one port connected to two cables to two jacks, unterminated cable will cause swr and mess up the connected set. (done to allow a pits at one place and a slt at another place on the same port) you can usually get away with a 70xx set since the voice is on the first pair, and the digital signal doesn't have the high speed digitized voice. (if only have prob at a few distant sets) There is also the add a small series supply at the set end. the old loopextender ;-) idea I still don't like. good luck -larry / dallas _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
