FWIW, I see exactly the same behaviour with a kxtd1232-3 and a tvs-100.
On my 7436 phone I would guess that it records the info about 10% of the
time. I have never been able to figure it out.

I've got a KX-TA624 system installed with a caller-id card and several
display phones. The callerID displays on the phones, but it randomly (and
rarely) will save the information on the phones (2 7030s and a 7130.) I've
setup the CallerID selection and CallerID display buttons on each phone, and
they *sometimes* will record the information (and light the light), but not
always (again, not MOST of the time.)
Any suggestions ? The information is getting to the phone, because I can
see the number on the display (which I assumes rules out answering the phone
too quickly.)
If it matters, I've got a TVS50 on the system as well...
