Just had another surreal run in with the installer. I have a desktop
(Win 7 English, German default keyboard) and a laptop (Win 8, Scots
Gaelic language pack, English UK Extended as default keyboard). Both had
LO (Gaelic UI) installed. After update, choosing "Default install based
on my current blabla", my desktop sure enough did come up with the
goods. My laptop on the other hand decided on going for English. When I
checked the language settings, it had installed English, English UK and
English South Africa. Seriously? South Africa? Just where is that coming
from?
German keyboard because I prefer it, even on an English machine. English
UK on the laptop because what Microsoft thinks a Gaelic user wants on a
keyboard is far far away from reality. That's just the way reality works
in a multilingual setting :)
