Hello everyone,

Here's a message from Karl Morten Ramberg, who has been doing some work on the Norwegian translation of LibreOffice. He attached some files, but because this list doesn't support attachments, I've uploaded them to the wiki:

Hi Mike,

Yes please, if you would. Here is the description I promised, and some screenshots of the tool. This is a work in progress and will be extended over the next weeks/months.

The short version, since you said localisation isn't your area: I have been working through the Norwegian BokmÄl catalogue and built a workbench to measure and correct it. The first run raised 5,644 things worth looking at, and 1,867 of those are now decided and applied.

The part that should interest the localisation people beyond Norwegian is this: most of the keyboard-accelerator problems in the Norwegian translation turn out to be faithful copies of collisions in the English source strings. They are not translation errors. That means they belong upstream, and can be fixed once for every language rather than 115 times over.

Forward it as it stands or trim it as you see fit.

Karl
