"Innocent Voices" is based on the true story of co-screenwriter Oscar
Torres's childhood in El Salvador, where more than 70,000 lives were lost
as civil war raged throughout the 1980's and boys like Torres as young as
12 years old were forcibly conscripted.
Filmed on location in Jalapa, Veracruz, "Innocent Voices" has been selected
by Mexico to be its official entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the
2004 Academy Awards.
