This is the proposal discussed at apachecon last week for a lab

too; I will move my slideware to this project and let him present it

+1 to the lab.
Is that vote going to be enough for me to start creating the SVN
directories?
Not sure about PowerPoint... :-)
I can handle the move. I will put my existing PPT file for robert to
start with.
I'd also worry more about tooling for diagrams. I've played with Dia and
Inkscape and never found either of them particularly compelling, so
right now some of my artwork is in Visio. Which I resent for various
reasons related to them removing their export-as embedded-postscript
feature in a way designed to really inconvenience anyone planning to use
visio diagrams in a book. I wasted a day bringing up an old copy of
visio in a vmware image, opening up my files in the newer version,
saving them in the old format and then reopening and exporting them in
the old version. If someone can point me at a nice way to do diagrams
that works well across platform I would be very happy indeed.
who uses inkscape?
