Just seeing this now (I don't check this email thread often) but do keep us 
apprised over at Mahout too!  I've got a huge collection of publicly available 
ASF mail archives up on Amazon S3 and one of the demos I was thinking about was 
running that content through the recommender (w/ a lot of preprocessing)
