Hello, all, I have to admit to being amused by the comments about not being able to read with only one candle when we as lacers have the answer already. I have made a makeshift lacemaking lamp by using a candle and a globe shaped vase, or even a glass (which gives a narrow, vertical beam). The concept does work even with my 'primitive' equipment.
