Yes, I know - but it isn't always easy to set that up where I normally sit to read! The tables aren't big enough. If it had gone on longer, it would have been worth messing with, but for one evening, the booklight with battery was fine.

I have to admit to being amused by the comments about not being able to
read with only one candle when we as lacers have the answer already.  I
have made a makeshift lacemaking lamp by using a candle and a globe shaped
vase, or even a glass (which gives a narrow, vertical beam).  The concept
does work even with my 'primitive' equipment.
