Of course I'm not offended! I know so many "Red-neck" jokes that these are rather
lame. They are often posted on the United Daughters of the Confederacy list. We
hillbilleys (and it doesn't matter if we're in northern Arkansas or Southwestern
Virginia) love to laugh at ourselves. We do often marry our cousins; and yes, if we
divorce, we are still cousins. We know we have a good gene strain because we don't go
about jerking our heads and drooling...(^_^)

Fact is, we probably made up most of the red-neck/bubba jokes. And we can usually
tell if the jokes are made up by someone N. or the Potomac River or one of us. I
somehow get the feeling these are made up by a non-one-of-us. I shall not dissect
each one, but the tone seems somewhat out of kilter.

Laughingly,

Betty Ann, Roanoke, Virginia,
whose family has been in Virginia since 1648 but who was born in Illinois 'cause my
Mamma insisted I be with her...
