Don't know about the Oz English; various branches of English continue to, er... branch out" <g>... But, for all the two words *look* similiar, in US, they don't rhyme, unless one stretches the point and pronounces "orange" in a somewhat frenchified way... :) The pronounciation of the "a" in "mange" is closer to "La Manche" (as in the channel between England and France), while the same "a" in "orange" is more like the "a" in "angel" (English).
