YOU COULDN'T CAKE IT UP..
BANNED from selling piggy cakes because they 're not made of pigs BANNED
from selling her Paradise Slice.. because it's not from Paradise
By Tom Parry

CAKE-MAKER Val Temple has been left totally browned off by half-baked
council jobsworths.
They have told her she can't call one of her most popular sweet treats Robin
Tarts - because they don't contain the red-breasted bird.
The same goes for her Pig Tarts, which have a sugar-coated pig on top... but
not a hint of pork.
Even her Paradise Slice has been deemed to be unlawfully labelled - because
it doesn't actually come from paradise.
Now she has been ordered to rename all her best-selling pastries simply
"novelty cakes".
Val, 60, who has run the Sgt Bun Bakery in Weymouth, Dorset, for almost 30
years, branded the ruling "ridiculous".
She said: "Of course my cakes don't contain pig, robin or bits of paradise.
But I've never had any complaints.
"I've changed the labels but people still call them by their proper names."
Outraged customer James Marper said: "What are they going to try to get rid
of next - spotted dick?"
A Dorset county council Trading Standards spokesman insisted: "People have
the right to know what is in food."
So watch out for possible future bans on angel cakes, shepherd's pie, jelly
babies, Scotch eggs... and toad in the hole.
