As long as we are talking about paper cutting, let me ask--
My mother had an overlay lamp with grapes cut thru the overlay. She took the lamp to someone who made a shade that has arcs cut into the shade in such a way at to give the appearance of a bunch of grapes. Similarly, there are cuts made that reflect the edges of grape leaves outside the bunches of grapes (and a few leaf veins and stems). There is no "cut out" - the paper of which the shade is made was not removed, but bent in slightly at the cuts to allow the light to travel thru differently to show off the handiwork.
Does anyone know the proper name for this technique? Or have any additional clues about it?
