Dear Friends,
this afternoon it was my absolute pleasure to conduct the world premiere performance of the "Missa Solemnis" by our very own Thurlow Weed of Lancaster, Ohio - yes right here in Ballarat.

The venue was our magnificent St. Patricks Cathedral - check it out online - with it's fabulous pipe organ.

The choir performed to their best and every single person I spoke to afterwards said how much they enjoyed the work as they let it wash over them. We had a CD and DVD professionally recorded and they should be available in a few days' time

I wore a black shirt with my best Bucks Point jabot/bow-tie combo with lacey cuffs made for me some years ago by our own Stormy Lee Van den Houten of Castle Rock, Washington. So lace making got more than a mention.

For one of Thurlow's hymns in the 2nd half we were joined by the Ballarat Little Brass Band. Then for the finale we had pipe organ, brass band plus Clavinova playing grand piano and strings as we performed that beautiful hymn "Be Still My Soul" to Sibelius's Finlandia tune.

Came home, made a big coffee, did 1cm of Miss Channer and then just had to tell you all before I crash
David
