As far as threads go, I seem to remember someone telling me once that if youNot quite right.
want to tell if a thread will work for a particular pattern, double it over &
hold it up to the pattern & see if however many pins' worth of this thread
will cover the pattern nicely. Am I remembering this right? Does this make
sense?
Wind the thread around a pencil or thin strip of card several times so that the wraps are lying close together but not overlapping. If it's a torchon pattern the thread will be suitable if 12 wraps cover the distance between two footside pinholes. If it's point ground only 10 wraps. Bedfordshire/
