The most exhaustive work on the subject of (joining and ) mounting lace is "Het Lassen en Aannaaien van Kant" by Louise Allis-Viddeleer. There is also a translation by Ineke van den Kieboom. The work was done as part of her Teacher Training at Kantcentrum in Bruges, and my copy is quite dog-eared from much use.
Does anyone know if this is still in print? I don't think I've seen it with any of our vendors, but it's one of those "essentials" that, IMO, all good lacemakers should have!
