For the card that I sent, being on topic for the time, I chose one of Tamara's 2-pr snowflakes from her booklet I'd just bought. As the pattern wasn't mine to give away, I sent my recipient some of my own patterns that I've designed for last Christmas - neatly contained in an issue of the Canadian Lacemaker Gazette :p (and yes she got everything - hope other exchanges are working out too!)
