I don't know about that curl for sure - there was some discussion of that a few weeks ago. I personally have not had that problem, and it may be related to the thread you used and the way it was wound on to the bobbin - clockwise or anti-clockwise.
I would not usually take a piece of lace off the pillow for at least 24 hours after finishing it - that gives the threads time to get used to being held in that position, they sort of develop a thread memory. This could be the reason for the curl, so you could try leaving your next piece on the pillow a bit longer.
