The middle day is an equalizer to some extent, but not all "vigorous" people

Join us in the lobby in the morning... :) We'll make lace (to catch up on classes), yammer (to catch up on friendships), shop (to catch the vendor room when it ain't mobbed and see what's new. As good a way to part with money as a tour <g>), have lunch and dinner (supper) together... So far, there's Alice (Howell), Clay (Blackwell), Janice (Blair) and me (if I get my classes and come at all <g>) - none of us are taking the tour, and neither I nor Alice are planning on attending the Western BBQ, either. Any and every one who's not taking the day's tour (Arachneans and not, so pass the word among friends) is invited to this "informal event" <g>
How about having a separate one-day class on Wednesday,
The trouble with that, from my point of view, is that you can't learn a whole lot in 6 hrs, but you have to have a whole load of separate equipment for it all the same. Not to mention a whole load of one-day teachers (if the "regular" ones are to take a day off). OTOH... I wonder if, perhaps, some lectures might not be scheduled on that day. I found having to choose between parallel multiple activities available in Prague a bit stressful, but...
Also, maybe this way some people could just show up for this one-day class and some shopping,
No way! :) When would you do your shopping, if you were in class? You think you can cover the vendor room (or rooms) in the half hour lunch break? Not on your nelly <g>
There was a Convention once - can't remember which one - where Ulrike Loehr (as used to be) taught her "Beginning of the End" class. That class went *through* Wednesday, for 30 hrs of tuition. I'd have liked that, but I *didn't go* to that Convention, and conditional mood (would have, might have) isn't enough for the organisers, who're trying to: both make the attendees happy *and* not end up under a mountain of debts... :)
Seriously, I do think that would be a good idea - an official separate "track"
for people who want intensive classes and don't care about living conditions.
It would, probably, have to be a totally separate event. It might, then, be small enough to take place in a less exalted location than a conference-equipped hotel (and include "leser living conditions", for the hardy <g>)
