Louise Colgan teaches color in BL and for her point ground pattern we used one color thread (YLI #100 silk) for the ground and for CTC passives, other colors of heavier thread (YLI #50 silk) for each CTC worker, and various colors of buttonhole twist silk for gimps. I used black for the fine thread, 2 shades of rust for the flower petal workers, edged in a coordinating shade of rust gimp, and green for the stem and leaf workers, each edged in green gimp. Then there were other colors of gimp around the edge. Since YLI #50 comes in more colors than #100, this scheme worked well for being colorful. And since the passives were thinner than the worker on the the CTC sections, the colored worker dominated the clothstitch sections. Robin P.
