Hi again everyone, and more free advice for Dona As I'm working away bit by bit on the length of lace for the garter, I keep reminding myself that only a few key people are ever going to see it up close. Not that I'm being careless about the work, but if I do make a boo-boo that I notice some pins too late, I don't fret about un-lacing to correct it unless it is strategic to the structure of the lace. Ditto, when I chose the pattern, I wanted something that wouldn't be too demanding to work, because, again, few people are going to see it up close, and I don't want to waste time struggling with a lace that maybe would show better as a dress trim, than gathered into a garter. Several years ago my son's bride-to-be accepted the 18 inches of 'Wedding Bells' I managed to make and I suggested she just use it any way she saw fit - on her gown or on the veil. She squidged it tightly onto the comb of her veil - the pattern was completely lost therefore, but, she did wear it with pride, and for that I was very touched. -- Bev in Sooke BC (on Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada) Cdn. floral bobbins www.woodhavenbobbins.com blogging lace at www.looonglace.blogspot.com
