Hi All,

None of my bobbin lace graces an Altar yet (I do have a length of from a Pattern from "Lace for Church Use"), but have done a number of large scale filet crochet pieces.

I have an original pattern sheet from one of Mary Card (Lace designer from Australia, first half of 1900s)'s designs which was given to me by an old Nun. Have seen an edging done using this design and estimate it would have been done in about 100 crochet thread. I have done most of my work in No 40 thread.

Bought a book on Lace crosses from Jenny Koops in South Africa and some of those are big enough to applique to a cloth which could be used as part of a bigger design.

I am working on my second Eeva-Liisa picture, the Guardian Angel, the first being The Crucifixion which I gave to my father for his 80th birthday.

Always interested in acquiring more patterns, crochet or Bobbin Lace if anyone has anything out there that they do not want.

This is one of the reasons I love being a wedding minister. I CAN wear
lace when I feel like it (grin) I love to get church lace for both my
vestments and for collecting.

Dear Kate -

Welcome back to the list! I know I am far from the only long-time member
(currently mostly lurking) who welcomes you back.

My husband is an Episcopal priest and I have a special interest in church
lace so thanks for pointing this one out. My big regret is that he is not
an 18-19th century Catholic priest who could be decked out in all manner of
lace finery. Of course, that would put *my* position a little in
doubt......

May your threads never tangle,
Cindy
