Hi all When I first started lace making I made some bobbins from air drying clay. I did use them a few times but as I hadn't painted them the clay did rub off on the pillow and they did look a bit gimpy if you know what I mean, as I was a beginner I didn't quite have the proportions right but the one thing I didn't have to do was put spangles on them as they are heavy enough. Still it was good to make my own, maybe one day I will try again now that I know what they need to be like, I suppose they would be ideal for Milanese as they are heavy enough to not need spangles.
