Another thought - I made myself a large pad (larger than the pricking) and
used that on top of my pillow, when I made a large piuece of lace.  I could
then lift the pad off the pillow and repositionon it, as aI worked down sthe
pricking.

Someone here on Arachne described seein some lacemakers on the continent (?
Malta or Spain) doing this, - and I thought it sounded a good idea. -- It
is!!!!!!!! :))

I used something similar to wet-suit rubber, and although it is a little
squishy, the pins sit in it well, and just the tips of them went onto the
pillow, so it was easy to "rip off' and plonk down further up the pillow.
